Payment technology provider Verifone is to support crypto payments through a partnership with crypto payments provider Bitpay.
- Merchants in the U.S using Verifone’s software will be able to offer crypto as a payment option once the solution is rolled out later this year, according to an announcement Tuesday.
- BitPay supports wallets such as Blockchain.com and Metamask to enable purchases in six different crypto, including BTC, ETH and DOGE, and five USD-pegged stablecoins, including USDC and BUSD.
- Funds will be settled in the merchant’s bank in fiat currency via Verifone once the transaction has been approved by BitPay.
- Verifone provides payment solutions for 600,000 merchants and oversees nearly 10.5 billion online and in-store transactions worth over $440 billion each year.
